Cheshire accountancy firm Booth Ainsworth LLP has enhanced its digital dictation output, with a new system installed in its North West base of operations. The cloud-based technology was upgraded to boost remote working throughout the team. Specialists SpeechWrite Digital were commissioned to formulate and instigate a solution, which has led to enhanced connectivity and improved productivity and accuracy. The accountants wanted to continue using their existing Philips hardware devices, which allows up to 30 users to access the cloud, whilst working remotely.
About Booth Ainsworth
Booth Ainsworth is an accountancy firm with a proud 50-year history. 100 staff operate from its office in Stockport, to the south east of Manchester, with clients throughout the region and nationwide. Its staff has a wealth of experience across a variety of sectors, with accountancy specialisms in dentistry and the legal sector. Other areas include retail, construction, leisure and media. Staff also offer advice and training, and are Sage One and Xero certified.
The company had already used Philips digital dictation technology in the past, but due to software upgrades, the solution had to integrate with a new Terminal Services environment. This is hosted and has 30 users connected to the digital storage platform.
Remote working – digital dictation solution
Remote working is an integral part of Booth Ainsworth’s offering, as is the ability to work flexibly – both in terms of working hours and location. So remote connectivity was a major factor in selecting the system. Booth Ainsworth is now using SpeechWrite Enterprise, which integrates into the Terminal Services environment. Also introduced were Philips Digital PocketMemo voice recorders. SpeechWrite provided consultation, installation, one-day training for dictation users (who could then train further staff internally as required) and additional ongoing support. The new system merges seamlessly with the existing hardware.
Daniel Charlson, IT supervisor at Booth Ainsworth LLP, commented: ““We’ve been really impressed with SpeechWrite’s expertise and the products have proven their worth, in enhancing our productivity. Our staff have found the new system to be very reliable and a noticeable improvement with regards to remote accessibility compared to previous Philips products we’ve used. SpeechWrite identified the areas where we could bolster and improve our dictation set- up and the solution has made a real difference to us.”
